One of our most successful members of our alumni community, Asim Chaudhry took to the stage at our latest Student Awards Ceremony.
Asim was born in Hounslow and is an actor, writer and director as well as a British comedian, best known for co-creating the BAFTA Award winning ‘People Just Do Nothing’ (BBC) and has been nominated for, and a recipient of many national awards.
Asim spoke about his experience of being a student at West Thames College and the positive impact this had in his progression.
We were thrilled to invite our very talented and amazing former student back to speak to our students by encouraging and inspiring them to think outside the box. It has been amazing to follow his journey and we can’t wait to see what he has planned for the future.
Before the award Ceremony, Asim kindly agreed to catch up with us...
“West Thames changed my life in a lot of ways and gave me the confidence to be myself
“When I came to West Thames, I felt like I was finally seen. When your learning something that you love doing it doesn’t even feel like your studying, It just feels like your passion.”
“A lot of us weren’t academic, a lot of us where the ‘naughty kids’ who weren’t seen and felt invisible and we expressed ourselves creatively. West Thames College is actually the first place I achieved any kind of academic success.”
