The Independence Hub at West Thames College is a dedicated learning space for young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD). Its purpose is to provide tailored education, life skills training, and community experiences that help students build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. With specialist staff, accessible facilities, and a curriculum focused on preparing for adulthood, the Hub empowers each learner to achieve their personal goals and thrive both in college and beyond.

At West Thames College, we are proud to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment. Our vision is rooted in a person-centred approach: we celebrate every student’s unique abilities and provide tailored, meaningful learning experiences that build confidence, independence, and skills for adulthood.
