We understand how important it is to you that your young person chooses the right college.
At West Thames College we aim to give your son or daughter the best possible experience as we help them prepare for working life.
Over 90% of our students achieve their qualification and many gain employment in the job of their choice or continue their education at top universities around the country. This success is due to:
- Our excellent staff team with industry experience as well as professional teaching qualifications
- Programmes of study which teach broad skills such as team work and problem solving as well as core practical skills
- Strong links with industry so students gain up-to-date knowledge about their chosen sector
- A safe, friendly environment where students are encouraged to take part in sport, clubs and fund-raising activities. There are also lots of opportunities to take on leadership roles. (See college life)

Careers advice and support
Our independent careers team will help your son or daughter make the right decision for their future.
We assess students’ learning support needs and will put in place the appropriate support package to achieve their potential. All students are allocated a student learning advisor who will ensure they stay focussed and on track.
Keeping in touch
We’ll keep you up-to-date with their progress at parents’ evenings and other events throughout the year.
We believe that working together with parents and guardians is key to our students’ success. We strongly recommend that you come with your son or daughter, or the young person in your care, to an Open Event and course Welcome Session or Interview.
If you have any questions about West Thames College, the application process or require special support for your young person, please contact the Information Centre on 020 8326 2020.
