We are incredibly proud to celebrate Aung, one of our ESOL Adult students, who has been named an Ascentis Outstanding Learner of the Year. At 74 years old, Aung is a wonderful example of why age should never be a barrier to learning something new, developing new skills or achieving your goals. Throughout his studies, Aung has demonstrated exceptional dedication, maintained 100% attendance and approaching every lesson with enthusiasm and determination. He is always punctual, respectful and committed to his learning, but what makes Aung particularly special is the kindness and encouragement he shows to those around him.
Aung's wife is also a member of his class, and he supports her at every opportunity with patience and encouragement. He is equally willing to help his classmates and has become a valued and inspirational member of the ESOL community. Returning to education later in life can bring its own challenges, but Aung has never allowed his age to limit his expectations of what he can achieve. His success is a reminder to all of us that it is never too late to learn, grow and achieve something new.
Aung has now progressed to Entry 2 ESOL and hopes to continue his studies, building his English skills and progressing even further in his learning journey. Aung’s achievement is a powerful reminder that learning has no age limit. As Henry Ford said, “Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”
A huge congratulations to Aung on this very well-deserved national recognition.
