Role of a Governor
Governors come from a wide variety of backgrounds and work as a team, alongside the Principal, to set the College’s strategy and ensure there is a clear vision for the future. Governors play an important ambassadorial role with communities and employers, ensuring that we effectively meet the needs of our key stakeholders. They also play a critical role in ensuring and assuring the quality of teaching, learning and assessment as well as ensuring the College’s overall financial health is strong.

Benefits of being a Governor
Governors report that the experience not only gives them an insight into education but also an understanding of different business models and working within a diverse community; areas of work include finance, audit arrangements, risk management, quality and strategy. Governors will experience collective responsibility, how to challenge effectively, with the opportunity of chairing committees in the future. College Board members do not receive payment, however full induction and training is available.
