West Thames College was delighted to welcome students and staff from ROC Da Vinci College in the Netherlands back to the College for another educational and cultural exchange, strengthening the international relationship between the two institutions.
The visit provided an opportunity for students and staff to share knowledge, experiences and ideas across the beauty and hair sectors, while learning more about each other’s approaches to education and professional practice.

As part of their visit to London, the Da Vinci College group also attended Professional Beauty London, held at ExCeL London on 4 and 5 October. The major industry event brought together professionals, educators and students from across the beauty sector, providing an opportunity to discover the latest products, techniques, trends and developments within the industry.
West Thames College students and staff also attended Professional Beauty London on a separate day, giving them the opportunity to explore the exhibition, engage with industry developments and gain valuable insight into the rapidly evolving beauty and personal care sector.

The return visit to West Thames College also continued the knowledge-sharing and collaboration established through the colleges’ previous international exchange.
“International collaboration brings so many advantages to both institutions,” said Kate McGill, CQTM in Hair & Beauty at West Thames College. “For students, it’s a chance to gain new perspectives and explore global trends in their chosen field. For tutors, it’s about sharing best practices and discovering innovative teaching methods that can enhance what we do here at West Thames.”

Kate added: “We welcome them back again. These exchanges help build a bridge between the UK and the Netherlands, promoting cross-cultural understanding and professional growth. Collaborations like this inspire innovation, broaden horizons and ultimately improve the quality of vocational education, preparing our students for the demands of an increasingly globalised industry.”
The exchange reflects West Thames College’s commitment to developing international partnerships that give students opportunities to broaden their horizons, experience different cultures and connect their studies to developments within their chosen industries.
By bringing students and staff together from different educational backgrounds, visits such as this create valuable opportunities to share ideas, develop professional knowledge and build lasting international connections.
West Thames College looks forward to continuing its relationship with Da Vinci College and creating further opportunities for students and staff to learn, collaborate and gain international experience.
