We are so proud of our students who have volunteered and signed up to Hounslow’s Promise Young Leaders Programme.
10 of our students attended their second session on February 22nd with MP Seema Malhotra and Tracy Aust, Principal of West Thames College.
The Connected Futures: Young Leaders Programme was developed to support young people aged 18-24 who are living, studying or working in the London Borough of Hounslow. It is run with the support of Hounslow Council and Hounslow Chamber of Commerce.
During the next 6 months, our students will be paired with mentors from the community. The programme hopes that the mentors will inspire, motivate and instill self-belief into our students.
The programme also offers:
• Access to masterclasses led by industry professionals
• Visits to local businesses and workplaces
• The opportunity to volunteer for a local organisation
• The opportunity to train as a mentor to support school-aged young people in Hounslow
• Access to fitness and wellbeing sessions
At the end of the programme, there will even be a graduation ceremony to highlight how far our students have come and to celebrate their achievements. We can’t wait to see how they grow.
