West Thames College proudly welcomed some of the world’s biggest employers to our Isleworth Campus for Aspire – our annual careers and jobs fair for students.
At Aspire, students met employers to find out more about what it's like to work in their industry as well as learn about the skills they need to access a diverse range of jobs to start their future career. Some of the major employers in attendance included:
- Amazon Web Services
- Canon
- HSBC
- Metropolitan Police
- Microsoft
- The NHS (Chelsea and Westminster)
Here’s what they had to say:
- We had a great time meeting students at the recruitment fair and we’re looking forward to hearing back from them. Tilly, Gather and Gather
- It was a great day to reach candidates who may be interested in our apprenticeships opportunities within Heathrow Airport and London. Stefan, K10 Apprenticeships
- It was really rewarding to meet so many ambitious students today. I am an apprentice at Microsoft and I wanted to promote why this is a great scheme for school leavers or career changers. I also wanted to really emphasise the fact that you don’t have to be technical to work at Microsoft as we have such a wide range of jobs available across various departments. Emma, Microsoft
- We had a really successful day explaining what positions we have in GP practices across Northwest London. It was great to speak to people who are a range of ages within the local community. David, Primary Care NHS
- It was great to meet all the students and I thoroughly enjoyed the event. I wanted to be here as I feel it’s very important to give something back to the community and I hope to be back next year. Ansa, Amazon Web Services
The event was organised by our own Martina Greeves, Head of Careers & Work Placement, who said: Every year, Aspire brings together a fantastic group of employers who are really keen to speak to our community and enrich our students’ knowledge of the many career opportunities that are out there for them. I am very grateful that so many of these employers have taken the time to be here today and know they inspired many to consider a career with them when they finish College.
