How the college complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

To enable the college to provide education, we need to collect personal data from staff, students and prospective students. This data and how we use it is covered by GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. West Thames College is registered with the Information Commissioner, allowing us to lawfully process this data.

When you enrol as a student you will need to sign an enrolment card which contains the College Data Protection statement. This allows us to process your details. If you would like a copy of this statement, please ask at the Information Centre.

In accordance with our Data Protection Policy we will ensure that:

• Only pass your data to relevant outside bodies, eg examination boards
• Only keep your data for as long as is necessary
• Provide you with a report of the data that we hold on request
