The course is for young people who are interested in the uniformed public services. You will participate in teamwork, learn codes of discipline and look at the functions of various uniformed services in the UK. The course combines a strong theory element with practical situations to give you experience and an insight into the uniformed services.

You will study:
- Employment in the uniformed public services
- Public service skills
- Improving health and fitness for entry to the uniformed services
- Career planning for the public services
- Adventurous activities and teamwork for the public services
- Crime and its effects on society
- Attending emergency incidents in the public services.
You will need a pair of sturdy boots with a heel suitable for walking. Students are required to wear black bottoms and a white top with black outerwear.

Entry Requirements
At least 2 GCSEs at grade D / grade 3 or above, preferably including English language. You will also have an assessment. You will need a pair of sturdy walking boots. Progression
You can progress to a career in the public services, such as the fire service, police, armed forces, paramedic or related civilian occupations. Alternatively, if you acheive a merit or distinction you may wish to continue your studies with the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Uniformed and Emergency Services.

Assessment Method
College based assignments include written assignments, presentations, posters and diaries. There will also be some external testing and practical assessments.
