About the Course
You will play mid-week fixtures in one of the Programme's teams. All participate in competitive competitions like the Football Conference Youth Alliance, a national competition recognised as the best for mid week U19 football.
You will study at West Thames College where you will gain your qualification, the NCFE L2 Diploma in Sport. You will also study GCSEs in English and maths.
Units that you will cover are below:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Fitness for sport
- Psychology for sport
- Practical sport

Entry Requirements
At least 2 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, or successful completion of the Foundation Level Diploma with functional skills in English and maths. You will be invited for a trial by Brentford FC who will assess your football skills. If you are successful, you will attend an interview at West Thames College. Progression
If your grades are at a suitable level you can progress to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. One of our recent students signed a professional contract for a team in Gibraltar. Other students have been accepted on scholarships to the USA.

Assessment Method
For the NCFE qualification, each unit will be assessed by a series of assignments, with both practical and theory elements. Each assignment is graded pass, merit or distinction and the grades will contribute towards your overall result. Functional skills will be assessed via an external exam
