This is a practical course in the performing arts for 16-18 year olds. You will complete units in acting and devising a performance, culminating in a final major project in our Endeavour theatre. You will have an opportunity for enrichment experiences and to take part in specialist professional workshops throughout the course.
The course is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades A*-C and provides a good basis to progress to higher levels of study.
You will work as a group as well as individually. Much of the work is practical, so emphasis is placed on your ability to work as a member of a team.

Entry Requirements
Two or more GCSEs at grade 3 or above, or successful completion of a Foundation Level course including functional skills in English and maths. You have the opportunity to retake English and Maths GCSE whilst you study.

Progression
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dance or Performing Arts if you achieve a merit or distinction. Because this is an introductory course, the Level 2 Diploma will not normally lead directly into professional performance work.

Assessment Method
Assessment is through blog based and practical work that is uploaded weekly and assessed throughout the academic year. There is an amount of written work required that is required to be uploaded to a blog platform, the emphasis is on live practical performance, The work is graded into Pass, Merit and Distinction.
In order to achieve the Level 2 diploma you are required to pass all units of the course.
