About the Course
The course is designed to help embed key skills and practical techniques required for creating film and media productions as well as honing an analytical mindset.
There is a clear emphasis on theoretical approaches supporting the development of creative ideas, and a belief that a sound understanding of academic rigour provides an excellent foundation for the creative impulse to flourish.
The course is a level 4 and 5 two-year programme of study that can lead to students progressing to a level 6 award (full degree) at an alternative academic institution.

Over the two years of study students will be encouraged to create a portfolio of work, both moving image productions and film-related analysis, to present to potential employers and universities to further career and academic ambition.

Grading is based on assessment of eight units for each year (16 in total) at Referral, Pass, Merit or Distinction, by the awarding body Pearson. There are no examinations.
