This exciting 1-year makeup course will enable you to develop the essential skills needed for a career in specialist makeup. You will develop your skills and techniques such as the application of airbrush and fashion makeup. You will also study SFX and application of small prosthetics. You will develop your knowledge of historical hair and makeup styles and learn how to dress wigs. You will also have the opportunity to retake or continue your studies in Functional Skills or GCSE English and maths.

Entry Requirements
At least 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C / grade 9-4 (including English and Maths), or a relevant Level 2 qualification at merit or distinction with functional skills in English and maths. Progression
You can progress to L4 Specialist Makeup, or into employment in retail, TV, Fashion, film, theatre and live performance as a trainee makeup artist.

Assessment Method
Through continual assessment of practical and written work, some multi choice paper testing of knowledge, tasks and assignments. All students must be available for the yearly external verifier visit.
