This Skills Bootcamp is fully funded by the Department for Education as part of the government's Lifetime Skills Guarantee. This means eligible learners can access high-quality training at no cost, removing financial barriers and ensuring more adults can upskill or retrain. By investing in Skills Bootcamps, the government aims to support local employers, strengthen the workforce, and create clear pathways into good jobs across key sectors.

    What you will learn:

    You will explore a range of key topics related to working in the health and social care sector

    • Communication in adult social care
    • Equality, diversity and inclusion
    • Personal development
    • Role of the social care worker
    • Handling information
    • Health and safety
    • Principles of safeguarding and protection and duty of care
    • Person-centred approaches
    • Employability Skills/ readiness: You will be supported to develop your readiness for job interviews throughout the course.

    Course Duration: 06 January 2026 to 20 March 2026

    Delivery Format: In person

    Weekly Time Commitment: Tuesday to Thursday - 09:30 to 16:40

  • Entry Requirements

    To be accepted onto this course you must be aged 19+, living in London, with the right to work in the UK, and not in full-time education during the Bootcamp.

    In addition, you need to have a good level of English and a willingness to learn. As you will be working with vulnerable people, roles within the sector typically require a clear Enhance Disclosure and Barring check, employer induction and evidence of specific immunisations as per employer policy.

  • Progression

    What you will achieve:

    • Gain essential knowledge and practical skills needed to begin a career in Health and Social Care
    • Achieve the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, a nationally recognised qualification
    • Take part in real-world activities and hands-on learning experiences
    • Receive full wraparound support, including career coaching, CV writing and interview preparation
    • Access additional learning or accessibility support where required
    • Benefit from guaranteed job interviews or clear progression opportunities into further training or employment, helping learners smoothly transition into the workforce.
  • Assessment Method

    This is a 10 weeks course with three intakes and you will need only choose one from the intake below and to be available to start the course at the beginning of your chosen cohort and remain for the duration.

    • Intake 1: starts on 06th October 2025 and ends on 19th December 2025
    • Intake 2: starts on 05th January 2025 and ends on 20th March 2026
    • Intake 3 starts on 02nd March 2026 and ends 15th May 2026
