This exciting, 1 year makeup course will enable you to develop the essential skills needed for a career in makeup.

  • About the Course

    You will study:

    • The art of photographic makeup
    • Follow health and safety practice in the salon
    • Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector
    • The art of dressing hair
    • Client consultation for hair services
    • Shaping and colouring eyebrows
    • Apply makeup
    • Instruction on makeup application
    • Themed face painting

  • Entry Requirements

  • Progression

    You can progress onto the Theatrical Media Makeup - VTCT Level 3 Diploma for 16-18s or Makeup Design and Hairstyling - BTEC Level 3 Diploma and into employment within a hair salon or makeup counter as a makeover demonstrator or as a trainee makeup artist.

  • Assessment Method

    Through continual assessment of practical and written work, some online paper testing of knowledge, tasks and assignments. All students must be available for the yearly external verifier visit. You may also need to study functional skills or GCSE in English and Maths.
