Develop learners skills and knowledge at this level, prepare learners to take further qualifications to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding within their chosen vocational area and fulfill CSCS training requirements for the Labourer's card.

About the Course
Learners will study the following units: - Know the principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work - Know the importance of safe manual handling in the workplace - Know the importance of working safely at height in the workplace - Know risks to health within a construction environment - Know the importance of working around plant and equipment safely

Entry Requirements
Applicants with no GCSE passes (or equivalent) or those not studying towards GCSEs will be offered a place on our Level 1 provision. To study on this programme students will need to demonstrate an ability to achieve Level 1 English and maths by the end of the course. This provision is appropriate for applicants with additional support needs and/or an EHCP.
Next move - Depending on level achieved, progress onto a Level 2 course, an Apprenticeship or employment.

Assessment Method
Learners will be required to complete an NOCN-Cskills Awards end of unit knowledge test, accessed via the Test Platform.
