About the Course
The T-Level transition Programme has been developed in close collaboration with T level providers to help students develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours across five areas essential for successful progression to L3 T-Level Digital.
The five areas are
- Industry-relevant technical knowledge and skills .
- Knowledge and skills for the workplace
- Positive attitude and behaviours
- Skills for successful study
- English, maths and digital skills
To support the five areas above, the Transition programme components will include
- L2 BTEC First Certificate in ICT.
- National Technical Outcomes (Data Analysis, Cybersecurity and Digital Solutions)
- GCSE Maths and English
- Pastoral support through Tutorial
- Employability Skills, Work experience and work-related activities.
The ICT and Digital content of the course have been designed to provide students with the technical knowledge, skills and understanding essential for the Digital sector and will build on what will be covered in the T-Levels. The GCSE Maths and English aims to develop the knowledge and skills of those students who do not hold at least a GCSE grade 4 in English and/or maths.
Relevant and meaningful personal development and enrichment opportunities will support students to develop the study skills they will need for success on T Levels and the positive behaviours and key transferable skills for success in the workplace.
Work experience and work-related activities form an important element of the Transition Programme as this will give students a broad introduction to their chosen T Level route through industry-relevant technical knowledge and practical skills.
You will continue working towards achieving a GCSE grade 4 in English and/or Maths if you do not already have this. You will also learn how to apply the English, Maths and digital skills that matter in the IT/Digital sector.
Weekly tutorial sessions will provide responsive pastoral care; and develop knowledge and behaviours that promote wellbeing and support students' engagement with their learning on the programme.

Entry Requirements
At Least 2 GCSE at grade 3 or above, including English and maths.

Assessment Method
Throughout the year you will be assessed through external exams, scenario based controlled assessments, assignments and work placement reports. There will be particular focus on exam style assessments to development your examination skills as this will be the main assessment method on the Level 3 T-Level Digital.
