BTEC Level 3 is a vocational qualification that will help you to develop practical knowledge, understanding and skills required to work in the business sector.
The course is designed for students who aim to progress to the second year and gain a BTEC Extended Diploma in Business, higher education and ultimately employment in the business sector.
Students progressing onto the second year Extended Diploma will choose either an Accounting or Marketing pathway and attain a qualification equivalent to three A Levels.
This course is for those applying for Business, Business & Accounting or Business & Marketing courses.

About the Course
This qualification provides the knowledge, understanding and employable skills that allow learners to gain business sector experience that will prepare them for further study or training.
The learning programme covers the following mandatory and optional units in Year 1 followed by a set of other mandatory and optional units in Year 2.
- Unit 1: Exploring Business
- Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign (External Exam)
- Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance (External Exam)
- Unit 4: Managing an Event
- Unit 8: Recruitment and Selection Process
- Unit 10: Recording Financial Transactions
Learners must complete and achieve all these units to be eligible for progression to the Extended Diploma in Business (Year 2).

Entry Requirements
4 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C / grades 9-4 (including Maths and English
Language), or BTEC Level 2 at merit or above with Functional Skills in English
and Maths. -
Progression
Students could progress to the second year Extended Diploma in Business, higher education in business, marketing, accounting, finance or ultimately to employment in the business sector.

Assessment Method
All units are assessed through External Exams and internally through coursework, practical tasks and role play.
