Following the release of the LSIP report in the summer of 2023, colleges in West London were awarded £4.8 million in funding in November 2023. This investment aims to support Further Education (FE) colleges in addressing the actionable priorities identified in the LSIP, thereby improving responsiveness to local economic needs. The funding spans the fiscal years 2023/24 and 2024/25 and targets the following priority sectors:
Logistics |
Logistics was identified as a priority skills area in the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) and we are leading the Logistics strand of this plan with funding from LSIF. The transport and logistics sector is larger in West London than anywhere else nationally, making our Skills + Logistics Centre the prime location for many different opportunities on the doorstep for our students. |
Healthcare |
We provide our students with a state-of-the-art hospital suite designed to provide hands-on training and real-world experience for students pursuing careers in healthcare. Focused on Level 3 Adult Nursing, this innovative facility will offer immersive learning experiences, preparing students for the demands of the healthcare industry. |
Creative Industries |
Our creative arts program serves as a vital catalyst for economic growth in the local community. By nurturing artistic talent, it fosters a vibrant cultural scene that attracts visitors and investment. Students gain skills that are highly sought after in industries such as design, media, and entertainment, thus enhancing employability and contributing to a skilled workforce. Additionally, collaborative projects and events involving local businesses and organisations create networking opportunities and stimulate economic activity. This enriches the local economy by cultivating talent, fostering innovation, and promoting cultural exchange. |
