West Thames College Uniformed Public Service students get Detective Inspector experience

West Thames College Level 3 year 1 Uniformed Public Service students recently visited Metropolitan Police Service Critical/Major Incident Command, otherwise known as HYDRA suites, investigating an Operation Trident (Gangs) murder as Detective Inspectors for the day.


The suites are used by over 50 countries worldwide and were developed by Professor Jonathan Craego with the Metropolitan Police Service. The students worked together, developing skills they have learned while studying Uniformed Public Services, as well as gaining practical experience and a valuable insight into the work of the Metropolitan Police Service.

On the same day students had the opportunity to meet the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service, Bernard Hogan-Howe.

The day was a combination of unique enrichment activities only available at West Thames College.

If you aspire to be in the armed forces or emergency services come and meet our Uniformed Public Service students and our industry experienced staff at our Open Day Xtra on Saturday 23rdApril from 11am-3pm. You will learn more about the course and will have the chance to watch our Uniformed Public Service Students deliver a self-defence and arrest technique demonstration as well as enjoying a whole host of other fun activities including fitness testing, DJ sets and dance performances.
