Introductory Certificate in Information Technology - Creating Digital Products with ESOL Support

Foundation Learning courses are designed to give you the skills to progress to Level 2. This course is for students whose first language is not English and is ideal for those progressing from an ESOL 16-18 course.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for young people with few qualifications whose first language is not English. The course is ideal for students progressing from ESOL.

About the course

You will study:

  • Unit 1: Being organised
  • Unit 7: Solving technical IT problems
  • Unit 9: Creating a website
  • Unit 11: Developing a digital product
  • Unit 12: Creating a digital animated graphic.

In addition to this course you will study functional skills in English and maths.

Additional opportunities

You will be expected to take part in projects relating to employability to help develop skills that employer’s value. You may visit organisations which use technical equipment to understand how they are used in a work context.

How will I be assessed?

For each unit you will be expected to complete a number of assignments. Each assignment will be internally assessed by your teachers.

Where next?

If you successfully complete all the modules you can progress to the BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Information and Creative Technology.

Entry requirements
