West Thames College secured funding for a new £3 million purpose-built logistics centre, which opened in May 2016.
Building was supported by the London Enterprise Panel and the London Borough of Hounslow. The logistics centre will act as a hub for students, workers and employers in the growing logistics industry. West Thames College has introduced new courses and training such as logistics operations, warehouse management and goods vehicle driving. These courses are designed to equip local residents with the skills they need to meet the rising demand for logistics expertise in West London.
Principal, Tracy Aust, comments, “We are very excited about the opening of the new logistics centre. It demonstrates our commitment to update our services to ensure that we meet the changing needs of employers and provide the right training for young people to secure good jobs in our area.”
